We are a Welsh Government Sponsored Body. Our purpose is to ensure that the natural resources of Wales are sustainably maintained, used and enhanced, now and in the future.
Flooding is an important issue for Wales and one which Welsh Government take very seriously. In Wales, there are around 208,500 properties that are at risk of flooding from rivers or the sea and around 163,000 properties at risk from surface water flooding. Natural Resources Wales provide a flood warning service to over 100,000 properties at risk of flooding from our rivers and the sea.
As a public body in Wales, we have a duty under the Welsh Language Act (1993) to prepare and implement a Welsh Language Scheme. This means that we allow our customers to choose which language (Welsh or English) they want to receive their flood warning and supporting information in when they register for the service.
