Fujitsu delivers a rock-solid data centre infrastructure platform with the PRIMEQUEST 2000 series, which is already known for record-breaking levels of performance and system resilience. New to the second generation are extended self-healing advanced Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) components, including Dynamic Reconfiguration and Extended Partitioning; resilience in DDR4 memory; and the new processors of the Intel Xeon Processor E7 v3 Family. The new PRIMEQUEST line-up revolutionises critical-workload processing with extra-large memory capacities of up to 12TB.
The quad-socket PRIMEQUEST 2400E2 and eight-socket PRIMEQUEST 2800E2 are best suited to mission-critical computing, where downtime is not an option. They offer an attractive alternative to businesses that want to migrate to an x86 platform without losing the reliability of current UNIX/mainframe systems.
In comparison, the eight-socket PRIMEQUEST 2800B2 model is ideally suited to handle more memory-intensive applications like in-memory computing and SAP HANA, while giving cost-efficiency and peace-of-mind for business-critical security levels.
Fujitsu also offers enterprise customers turnkey professional services to make migration from legacy systems a simple and trouble-free path – with the Fujitsu Global Delivery Centre network able to remotely manage and monitor installations around the clock2.
Hans-Dieter Wysuwa, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Product Business, Fujitsu said: “The data centre market is witnessing revolutionary times. The new generation PRIMEQUEST family helps companies processing huge amounts of mission-critical data to embrace the benefits of the data explosion while enabling business continuity. These ambidextrous, rack-optimised enterprise systems make UNIX/Mainframe available on an x86 platform providing the intelligent backbone that enables Fujitsu customers to deliver 24/7 service to their customers.”
José Pinto da Fonseca, Head of Architectures, Energias de Portugal, S.A.: “Competition in the international energy markets is especially challenging and drives EDP to be resourceful and innovative. Based on reliable Fujitsu infrastructure concepts optimised for in-memory technology, Fujitsu’s expertise and services are enabling EDP to more fully exploit the potential of the SAP HANA platform in a more simplified and streamlined way.”
Ricardo Antonio de Souza Batista, CIO of Sicoob (Sistema das Cooperativas de Crédito do Brasil): “SICOOB uses the FUJITSU Server PRIMEQUEST open platform to deliver a highly reliable, efficient, integrated and consolidated IT environment, based on Fujitsu technology and solutions.”
A hyperconnected world is driving a new industrial revolution. However, for many data centres, IT infrastructure and operations are reaching a breaking point. Designed for business-critical back-end services, the quad-socket PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 is equipped with the latest of the Intel Xeon Processor E7 v3 Family available with up to 72 cores, plus up to 6TB super-fast DDR4 main memory. The PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 delivers state-of-the-art management capabilities with the new integrated Remote Management Controller (iRMC S4), offering a variety of user-friendly functions to help ensure a faster and more cost-effective infrastructure management, no matter where the server is located. This quad-socket x86 server offers breakthrough performance, rock-solid reliability, and compelling consolidation and manageability efficiencies.
Hans-Dieter Wysuwa adds: “Fujitsu offers one of the widest ranges of data centre and integrated systems, and the FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 is the flagship of the PRIMERGY server family. It achieves a new level of compute performance to deliver more efficient business results. It handles complex, data-intensive workloads such as in-memory databases and real-time business analytics with greater ease even than the previous high-end generation.”
The features of the PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 make it an exceptional platform for running demanding and data-intensive databases, applications, and business intelligence (BI) workloads. In addition, it substantially simplifies carrying out infrastructure-related tasks such as server virtualisation at a price point that also makes it attractive for consolidation projects. This allows companies to boost their data centre while reducing operational expenses by up to 48 percent3 as well as a 2:1 consolidation ratio compared to a quad-socket system with typical working period4.
The new generation FUJITSU PRIMEQUEST 2000 series second generation is now available to order. At launch, Fujitsu is offering three different PRIMEQUEST models. The FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 is now globally available. Pricing is according to region and specification. PRIMEQUEST and PRIMERGY systems are sold directly and via Fujitsu channel partners.
