Fujitsu in Scotland

At a glance

Fujitsu is a company built on our people, and on the partnerships we’ve developed with customers over the decades. In Japan, throughout the world, in the UK and in Scotland we continue to build those partnerships for our future.

Working together has helped us cope with Covid, and working together will help us recover and thrive. Scotland will build back better. And Fujitsu will be there for our customers and for Scotland.

We are committed to putting people on the ground where they’re most needed and this demands continuous investment in recruiting staff at every level.

We are now over 500 strong in Scotland, with a local HQ in Edinburgh.

Our people are passionate about delivering excellent service to our customers every day.

Not only this, but our people live and breathe our global purpose to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation - that's about seeing the value technology can create for customers today and in the future - and making it real.

Scotland

In Scotland, we work across the public and private sector including financial services, utilities, telecoms and retail. We currently support customers in approximately 2,500 sites across the region. From lottery tickets to driving licences, tax forms to monthly salary cheques, essential utility services to high street shopping – in one way or another, Fujitsu touches the lives of 99% of the Scottish population.

The customers we work with in region include Scottish Government, Scottish Water, Historic Environment Scotland, HMRC, Costa Coffee, Specsavers, and major financial institutions including NatWest.

Delivering for our people, our customers, society and the planet

Across Fujitsu we recognise that, when implemented correctly and genuinely, responsible and ethical behaviours create shared value. Responsible Business has been a substantial part of the Fujitsu Way (our corporate philosophy) since its inception, making it an integral part of our company DNA.

Here in Scotland, we engage in effective and impactful responsible business activity on a local level to demonstrate true purpose and positive outcomes for our planet, our customers, our local society, and the people within in it.

That’s why we have ambassador hubs across the region, have made a pledge to become ambassadors of the Young Persons Guarantee and engage in meaningful joint action with our customers, recently taking part in a co-creation session on how to better engage male allies in support of women in business. We also support local action, for example last year we put a team together to cycle and raise much needed funds for Cash for Kids Lothians by taking part in the Tour de Forth.

We work better when we work together

We are strategic partners of Scottish Financial Enterprise, FinTech Scotland and Scotland IS.

We also collaborate with universities across the region including the University of Glasgow and the University of Edinburgh.

Fujitsu is a current supplier on two Scottish national frameworks; the Digital and Technology Services (DATS) framework and the Hosting and Cloud Services framework.
