Fujitsu Adds WiFi+Bluetooth® Combo to Wireless Module Offering

Fujitsu Components Asia Pte. Ltd. announced today it has added a compact, 802.11b/g wireless LAN + Bluetooth® version 2.1+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) combination module. The fully integrated module minimizes piece parts while providing engineers with a cost-effective way to easily and quickly add both wireless technologies to new product designs without requiring special expertise.
Developed for lightweight and compact devices, Fujitsu’s MBH7BWZ04 measures a 10mm x 11.2mm x 1.4mm in a 60-pin LGA package. An onboard EEPROM, voltage regulator and crystal oscillator enhance the module’s usability while minimizing package size. Primary applications include industrial computing, POS systems, hand held terminals, and instrumentation.
The MBH7BWZ04 wireless module features separate power sources and switching capabilities to allow independent or simultaneous operation of wireless LAN and Bluetooth. This feature also reduces the module’s overall power consumption when either transmission circuit is not in use. A single RF I/O eliminates interference to support WiFi-Bluetooth co-existence.
Available immediately, the MBH7BWZ04 is priced at $19.75 in 10,000 pieces. Deliver is 16 weeks ARO.
