Fujitsu Asia Launches New ScanSnap fi-5110EOX2 Scanner
Offers improved software and features for increased efficiency

Leading regional IT and communications solutions provider Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd today launched the ScanSnap fi-5110EOX2 scanner, an enhanced model of its award-winning ScanSnap 3 scanning solution that offers improved software and features for increased efficiency.
The fi-5110EOX2 comes bundled with the new ScanSnap Organiser software, which allows users to organise their documents into different folders or directories. Scanned Portable Document Format (PDF) files are displayed as thumbnails and users can view any pages within a particular file by clicking the thumbnail’s directional arrows – without actually having to open the file. In addition, PDF files can be easily rearranged via a simple drag-and-drop operation using a mouse.
In addition, the enhanced ScanSnap Manager application enables users to create a maximum of nine scanner profiles, which can be customised based on preferences like usage frequency, saving locations and scanning modes.
Furthermore, the latest Adobe Acrobat 7.0 (standard version) program offers an easy-yet-secure way to share PDF documents. With Acrobat 7.0, users can:
- View, print, and search for PDF files
- Create PDF documents from numerous applications
- Combine several files into a single PDF document
- Protect documents via passwords
- Organise comments from multiple reviewers with sorting and filtering tools
Apart from these new features, the fi-5110EOX2 retains all the award-winning features of the ScanSnap 3 scanning solution, such as one-touch PDF generation, business card scanning & organising, high optical resolution and sophisticated paper-handling mechanism.
The device digitises A4-, B5-, A5-, B6- and A6-sized documents as well as business cards. Using the bundled carrier sheet, the scanner can also capture photographs, irregularly-shaped (or fragile) documents and printouts of A3 and B4 formats.
The fi-5110EOX2 scans documents at 15 pages per minute (ppm) in either simplex or duplex mode, with blank pages automatically eliminated. The auto de-skew and auto image rotation functions align skewed text and orientate scanned pages respectively.
