Fujitsu Asia Launches fi-60F Colour Flatbed Document Scanner

Leading regional IT and communications solutions provider Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd today unveiled the fi-60F, the fastest and smallest A6 colour flatbed document scanner in its class.

Supporting output resolutions of up to 600 dots per inch (dpi), the scanner takes a mere 1.7 seconds to scan a document in colour at a resolution of 200 dpi. When time is critical, a document can be scanned in black-and-white or greyscale at 200 dpi in just one second. The scanning area accommodates all kinds of documents up to A6 size (14.8cm x 10.5cm) such as identity cards, passports, photographs and other identification documents. Images can be saved in various formats including TIFF and JPEG.

The fi-60F can be ready for use as soon as the PC is turned on, via its high-speed USB 2.0 interface. The device is also energy efficient, using less than 8 watts in operation and less than 2 watts in standby mode.

Unlike most previous Fujitsu document scanners, fi-60F uses a flatbed-only mechanism to capture documents. This is especially useful for industries where identification documents need to be captured quickly and easily, examples of which include customs and immigrations authorities, pharmacies and medical practices, insurance companies, banks, financial service providers, vehicle leasing and rental companies, public-sector organisations and telecommunications firms.

With a dimension of 14.5cm x 23.4cm x 4.0cm and weighing less than 1kg, the fi-60F is smaller and lighter than a copy of the Singapore Street Directory. The compact footprint makes the fi-60F ideal for scanning small-format documents quickly and clearly within the confines of a limited physical space, such as a reception desk, sales counter or other places of direct customer contact.
