Fujitsu Asia Launches IP Message Manager Next-Generation Video Messaging System for ASEAN

- Unified platform enables rollout of new messaging services on VoIP, cable or 3G networks by telecommunications services providers

Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd.

Singapore, November 15, 2005

Leading regional IT and communications solutions provider, Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd, today announced the regional launch of IP Message Manager, a carrier-class messaging platform designed to facilitate rollout of video messaging services by telecommunications operators.

Based on Internet Protocol (IP), the system is jointly developed by Fujitsu Siemens Computers, a joint venture between Fujitsu Limited (the parent company of Fujitsu Asia) and Siemens AG, and Mobeon AB, a telecommunications messaging software developer.

Built using standardised hardware, software, components and protocols, IP Message Manager is designed as a highly scalable, reliable and cost-effective platform for telecommunications operators to launch revenue-generating messaging services in line with their business strategies.

A fully integrated messaging system, IP Message Manager integrates Fujitsu PRIMEPOWER line of SPARC-based Solaris servers with Mobeon’s range of messaging applications (including videomail, voicemail and e-mail) and various high-availability middleware products. It can be deployed within different kinds of networks including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), cable and third-generation (3G).

IP Product Manager also provides telecommunications operators with powerful customisation tools and flexible deployment options, thus allowing messaging solutions to be implemented in numerous configurations without affecting core reliability and availability. Deploying the system will enable operators to introduce new revenue-generating video services based on consumer demand.

“Our partnership with Mobeon gives operators the opportunity to move customers from legacy systems to proven carrier-class, next-generation platforms and generate more revenue and profit per user,” said Dieter Herzog, Executive Vice President Enterprise Products, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “The combination of Fujitsu Siemens Computers and Mobeon brings IP and Telco expertise together in a unique close working partnership.”

“IP-based next-generation solutions are the key to revenue-generating services,” said Huw Hampson Jones, Executive Vice President Sales, Mobeon. “Extending videomail and enhanced messaging services to users will help to boost average revenue per user, and encourage them to use even more multimedia messaging tools. We work closely with Fujitsu Siemens Computers to offer customers best-in-class solutions that bundle our core areas of competence with the expertise of leading technology.”

Fujitsu Asia will launch IP Message Manager for the ASEAN markets including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam with immediate effect. Visit http://www.fujitsu.com/sg/services/integration/industry/telecom/ipmm/ to find out more about IP Message Manager.
