Fujitsu Asia, a leading regional IT and communications solutions provider today launched the world's first 180 degrees rotational ADF (automatic document feeder) scanner, the fi-5750C. This is the first time, a scanning device incorporates a design that marries functionality with ergonomic and practical style. By equipping the fi-5750C with an ADF that can be turned a full 180 degrees, comfort and convenience are both maximized as the user can easily adapt the scanner to specific space requirements.
"The fi-5750C is borne by Fujitsu's continuous drive to develop new and truly differentiated products that deliver genuine benefits to end users. Its excellent image quality and unparalleled speed and versatility reflect the passionate and innovative minds in Fujitsu who are constantly striving to break new frontiers of technology. The design of the fi-5750C takes into consideration the comfort of the user and it allows easy access for both left and right-handed users alike," said Mr Loh Chong Shing, VP, Volume Products Group, Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd.
With a totally new concept of ergonomic design and space saving feature, the fi-5750C scans 55ppm/110ipm, in both colour and monochrome at 200 and 300 dpi, A4 portrait. To further enhance its speed capability, it is built with an internal memory space of 256 MB made expandable to 512 MB. It is also equipped with a dual Ultra SCSI/USB 2.0 interface that enables efficient connectivity.
The fi-5750C can scan from A8 size to A3 through a 200 sheet ADF. Users who want to scan at a higher resolution can do so at up to 600 dpi where the scanning speed is still a remarkably high 30 ppm at A4 landscape, thus making it suitable even for print-on-demand solutions.
It also comes bundled with utilities that offer users superior handling capabilities such as : ultrasonic double feed detection, a set of image enhancement features like deskew (ensuring that documents that are not placed in a straight edge format are straightened when scanned) and autocropping (ensuring that if mixed documents are scanned, only the scanned area will appear on screen). To further differentiate this revolutionary scanner from classes of its league, the fi-5750C has two independent methods of detecting document double-feeds with the addition of length sensors to its ultrasonic double-feed detection technology. Either detection method can be used separately or combined to accommodate a wide variety of documents environments.
Another revolutionary feature of the fi-5750C is its new feeding mechanism that is incorporated from higher end production models. It is capable of feeding mixed paper batches ranging from very thin paper (minimum 41 g/m²) up to very thick paper (maximum 203 g/m²) automatically and without error. This capability minimises the need for users to eliminate paper jams or to prepare paper in uniformly sized batches.
The fi-5750C optimizes productivity as the feeding mechanism loads only paper from the bottom of the stack. This enables the user to continuously feed the paper even while the scanner is operating. Bundled with a full version of AdobeÒ AcrobatÒ 6.0, the fi-5750C offers an option to further increase scanning productivity for batch scanning via Fujitsu's Software IPC.
The fi-5750C is suited for but not limited to the insurance, financials, banking, healthcare and government sectors. Generally, MNCs stand to benefit from scanning solutions such as the fi-5750C in terms of cost and time savings, improved records management and document security and increased productivity.
