New Signal Relay Meets Latest Telcordia Lightning Surge Standards
Fujitsu Components Asia Pte Ltd
Singapore, October 21, 2002
Fujitsu Components Asia, Limited today released a signal relay with high isolation and breakdown voltage features that conform to the latest Telcordia and IEEE802.3 standards. These features eliminate the need for separate protection components.
The FTR-C1 is a 1A relay that meets Telcordia’s second lightening surge requirement of 5,000V between coil and contacts, as well as the 2,500V lightning surge between open contacts. The relay also meets the IEEE802.3 standard for 1,500VAC breakdown voltage (1 minute) between open contacts.
Available in 3, 4.5, 5, 12 and 24VDC coils, the FTR-C1 relay features 2.0mm clearance and 2.5mm creepage distance between coil and contacts, which meets the 250V IEC60950 working voltage supplementary insulation requirement. Applications include xDSL, digital loop carrier, access networking, voice over IP, modems, and fax machines.
The FTR-C1 comes in standard and single coil latching versions, with either SMT or through-hole bifurcated contacts. The 2 Form C relay measures 15mm (L) x 7.5mm (W) x 9.3mm (H) [through-hole]; 9.65mm (H) [SMT].
Available immediately, the FTR-C1 relay is priced at $2.50 per device in 10,000 piece quantities. Lead time is approximately 10 weeks.
