Fujitsu Asia Unveils New USB 2.0 Magneto-Optical Drives

Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd announces an addition to its high capacity magneto-optical (MO) storage product line with the introduction of its new USB 2.0 models. The new DynaMO 2300U2 and DynaMO 1300U2 external storage drives mark Fujitsu's first high-speed USB 2.0 compliant drives with heightened performance targeting both PC and Macintosh end-users.
Available in capacities 2.3GB and 1.3GB, the new DynaMO 2300U2 and DynaMO 1300U2 offer the same ruggedness, durability and reliability benefits as its predecessors with a simple connectivity. Not only does it deliver ultra high-speed data transfer and retrieval, it is compact, lightweight and stylish. The user-friendlyUSB interface makes it easy to install, and is often preferred for use with multimedia peripherals and other high-speed devices.
The new DynaMO 2300U2 and DynaMO 1300U2 achieve data transfer rates of up to 60MB/s, which is 40 times faster than previous USB 1.1 connections. It offers strong random accessibility, an excellent seek time of 19ms, and an 8MB buffer, making it an ideal choice for intensive audio/video and graphical applications, data backup, archiving, data acquisition and a variety of demanding applications that require high-capacity, reliable, removable storage.
Unlike other storage devices, the new DynaMO 2300U2 and DynaMO 1300U2 offer full backward compatibility with existing 3.5-inch MO media with capacities ranging from 128MB to 1.3GB. It offers unlimited rewritability and read/write capability to 2.3GB GIGAMO standard media, combining the utmost reliability, superior performance and excellent cost-effectiveness among today's removable storage devices. DynaMO 2300U2 and DynaMO 1300U2 are compatible with Mac OS 9.0.4 onwards, Mac OS X, 10.0.1 onwards and PCs running on Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, ME, 2000 Professional and XP Professional/Home Edition.
The new DynaMO 2300U2 and DynaMO 1300U2 retail at S$669 and S$549 respectively and come complete with driver software, interface cable, AC adapter, uplight stand and one MO media. Both models are available now through Fujitsu authorised distributor, Systems Technology Pte Ltd and its appointed dealers.
