ETERNUS AF-650 All-Flash storage pays off for Sparinvest as storage energy consumption has reduced by 70 percent, and runs more reliably and is better performing also together with PRIMERGY Rack servers

"Fujitsu All-Flash storage is less expensive to run, more reliable and better performing – it really ticks all the boxes. It’s also scalable so we can easily add more capacity in the case of acquisitions."

René Steen, Head of IT Operations Sparinvest

Sparinvest has deployed FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY systems and FUJITSU ETERNUS All-Flash storage to improve application performance, increase reliability and reduce energy costs.

Customer

Founded in Denmark in 1968, Sparinvest is an international asset management group based in Luxembourg and owned by a broad range of Danish institutional shareholders, who support its independence and prudent investment strategy.

Challenge

Sparinvest’s core server and storage infrastructure was five years old and out of warranty. It wanted to refresh this critical platform while also introducing All-Flash storage.

Solution

The company worked with local Fujitsu SELECT Expert partner Your-IT to evaluate the market and chose Fujitsu based on performance, cost and familiarity. It has since deployed 12 FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX2540 and one FUJITSU Storage ETERNUS AF650 All-Flash array to support 150 users in three locations.

Benefit

  • Application response time is three times faster for improved productivity
  • Storage energy consumption has reduced by 70 percent for lower running costs
  • Easy scalability means the solution can grow with the company
  • Lack of moving parts, such as fans, means there is less risk of failure and thus improved availability
