Before than ever before, enterprises today need intelligent tools that enable a smarter, more integrated approach to communications. With so many mechanisms for communication (email, voicemail, messaging and more) - productivity suffers when people can’t be reached on the first attempt. In addition, many unified communications and collaboration environments force users to accept a wide range of accessories such as additional headsets, loudspeakers and handsets to perform the required tasks. With the new Multimedia module1, Fujitsu has integrated all these features into the all-in-one ESPRIMO X PCs, making unified communications easier and more effective. A “busylight” indicates the user’s presence status for more efficient communications. The touch display option enables further UC&C applications like interactive White Board sharing in a communication session.
The Fujitsu ESPRIMO X series also solves the problem for users who need the full functionality of a space-saving desktop, but also require energy savings and constant connectivity. The ESPRIMO X923 and ESPRIMO X923-T can be switched to Low Power Active Mode (LPAM) which shuts down power-hungry applications such as browsers and office programs while they are idle so the device is practically turned off. The network connection remains in an active state so that programs such as Microsoft Outlook can still synchronize with the mail server to keep the mailbox up to date.
Addressing the need for energy efficiency, the ESPRIMO X923 and ESPRIMO X923-T in Low Power Active Mode draw just enough energy to perform critical background tasks, yet are available immediately for incoming calls or videoconferencing. The “Always On” approach to business and technology can be a costly endeavor. However, with Fujitsu’s LPAM, the ESPRIMO X PCs use less than 5 watts when running the Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional operating system - about 45 percent below the maximum power consumption in standard idle mode2. As a result, enterprises will be able to cut their power bills, and replace telephony equipment with UC&C-enabled networked PCs.
Taking into account that services side can be as important as devices, Fujitsu offers Managed Collaboration Services to support the Unified Communications and Collaboration solution stack. Large enterprises often look for an individual and flexible solution. Managed Collaboration allows customization and parameterization. Fujitsu Managed Collaboration integrates and manages Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Lync and File Services based on various service classes with different availability levels and sizing options. For organizations that want to update their IT environment, provide around-the-clock service and reduce total cost of ownership, Managed Collaboration provides a cost-effective solution with pay as you grow options and transparent cost structure for improved budget planning.
