Reducing environmental impact through design
Fujitsu carefully considers environmental impact at every stage of the product lifecycle, but the most important stage is the initial design. Without due consideration during the design phase regarding the environmental impact and consequence of each material and component selected - the means of purchasing, the process of manufacturing, the transport, the life-long usage and the inevitable end of life - no product can claim to be “environmentally conscious”. Fujitsu has implemented a strict in-house Eco-Design Guideline which applies to all aspects of Fujitsu product development and is aimed at reducing waste, minimizing energy consumption and eliminating hazardous substances.

Hazardous Substances Management
Reducing or eliminating hazardous substances in our products is considered as one of the priorities in the design of products. Fujitsu’s Eco Design Guideline ensures that our products surpasses statutory standards and defines additional requirements, which take their bearings from the environmental standards of Energy Star, Blauer Engel ("Blue Angel"), Nordic Swan or EPEAT. Furthermore, particularly environmentally compatible products can be awarded our "Green IT" logo
Pioneering designs: no longer just an ideal but a reality
Fujitsu has already proved that green is not just an ideal but a reality. Take for example the world’s first Eco keyboard and mouse announced in XXXX. Produced with PVC free USB cables, a halogen-free circuit board, biodegradable materials and many other features for conserving energy and natural resources, these products show the way for the entire IT industry.
