Dublin, October 13, 2015

Fujitsu Ireland CEO, Tony O’Malley joined over 180 senior business leaders at the ninth annual Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) Sustainability Forum where the recipients of the prestigious Business Working Responsibly Mark were announced.

The Mark which is run by Business in the Community Ireland to recognise leading companies in the area of sustainability in Ireland is based on ISO 26000 and audited by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI).

Valid for three years, Fujitsu Ireland was accredited with the Mark for the first time this year and joined top tier businesses including Boots Retail Ireland Limited, CRH Ireland, Deloitte Ireland, ESB, Gas Networks Ireland, KBC Bank Ireland Head Office and Intel Ireland to receive the award.

This is the ninth year of the annual CEO Forum run by Business in the Community Ireland with the purpose of bringing new developments in the area of sustainability to Irish CEOs. In a year where business reputation has been firmly in the spotlight – leadership and megatrends around sustainability were the topics of the forum.

Speaking at the event that acts as Ireland’s premier corporate arena for discussion around corporate responsibility and sustainability, Tina Roche, CEO, Business in the Community Ireland said:
“As the economy grows, businesses in Ireland need to really look at the essential components for responsible and sustainable growth. Burning topics such as work life balance, ethical consumerism and supply chain risks are key areas companies needs to focus on.  We have driven the agenda on CSR for 15 years and look forward to continually pushing for best practice as we want all companies in Ireland to be responsible and sustainable.

Roche congratulating the companies that have achieved the Mark added:
“The Mark is challenging to achieve so I congratulate the companies today on getting it. These forward-thinking companies understand that customers, employees, investors and regulators place a high premium on trust and ethics. CSR is about excellence in business and translating it into management practices and the Mark is an invaluable tool for helping companies assess where they are at”.

Fujitsu Ireland CEO, Tony O’Malley added:
“Fujitsu is committed to CSR and best practice as an employer, supplier and corporate citizen and I am delighted to receive the Business Working Responsibly Mark on behalf of the Fujitsu Ireland team.”
