Where can I purchase ATLAS?

You can purchase ATLAS at computer stores in Japan. If you would like to purchase ATLAS from outside Japan, please contact contact-atlas-en@cs.jp.fujitsu.com.

What is included in the ATLAS Super Pack?

ATLAS Super Pack contains the following products:

• ATLAS Translation Standard V14 (translation software with a 2.86 million words dictionary)
• ATLAS Technical Dictionaries V14 (28 specialized dictionaries containing 5.57 million words)

Are the English version and the Japanese version separate packages or a single package?

Atlas V14 includes both the English and Japanese version in the same package. The English manual is also included in the CD-ROM in PDF format.

I have an older version of ATLAS. Can I upgrade?

We provide upgrade kits for older versions of ATLAS. For details, see "Lineup".

Can I try out the ATLAS before purchasing?

ATLAS trial version is not available any more because it expires at the end of December 2015.

Functions

What are the improvements in version 14?

For information on improvements from the previous version, please refer to Improvements from V13 to V14.

Can I translate documents directly from Microsoft Office?

You can directly translate Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and preserve the layout of documents.

Can I translate PDF documents?

ATLAS V14 can translate PDF files in cooperation with Acrobat or Adobe Reader. In order to translate PDF files without changing the layout, Acrobat is required. In an environment in which only Adobe Reader is installed, the translation results are displayed as plain text.

What level of accuracy can I expect?

While ATLAS translation quality depends on the documents to be translated. High performance can be expected in well-structured sentences such as manuals, technical writings and articles.

Are there any differences between the Japanese version and the English version?

Available functions differ between the English and Japanese versions. For details, please refer to Function Differences.

How many technical dictionaries and user dictionaries can I use simultaneously?

Up to 32 dictionaries can be specified at the same time.

How many examples can I store in Translation Memory?

In ATLAS Translation Standard Approximately 5,000 examples can be registered in Translation Memory. In ATLAS Super Pack Approximately 840,000 examples can be registered in Translation Memory.

System Requirements

What are the minimum system requirements for ATLAS V14?

Hard disk: 570 MB or more RAM: 128 MB or more When you use the translation memory function, 512MB of RAM or more recommended. For details, please refer to System Requirements.

What operating systems does ATLAS V14 support?

Does ATLAS V14 support Windows 10?

Fujitsu has released an update to ATLAS 14 that adds support for Windows 10. ATLAS V14 U004 supports Windows 10 except the following:

• ATLAS speech function
  ATLAS speech function is not supported on Windows 7 (32-bit/64-bit version) or later.
• Quick-ATLAS" functions
  "Quick-ATLAS" functions (Mouse Translation, Key Type Translation) are not supported on Windows 7 (64-bit version) or later.

Please download and install the latest update pack, ATLAS V14.0 Update Pack 004.

Is there an update for Acrobat X?

ATLAS V14 004 supports Acrobat X. Please download and install the latest update pack, ATLAS V14.0 Update Pack 004.

Is there an update for Office 2013?

Fujitsu has released an update to ATLAS 14 that adds support for Office 2013. Please download and install the latest update pack, ATLAS V14.0 Update Pack 004.

Troubleshooting

How can I get Japanese characters to display properly?

In order to display Japanese characters in an English environment, the system locale must be set to Japanese. For further information, please refer to Setting the System Locale.

How do I enable Japanese character converting (IME)?

You will need Japanese Kana-Kanji Converting (IME) in order to input Japanese in an English environment. For further information, please refer to Installing Japanese Kana-Kanji Converting (IME).

"Compile error in hidden module" error message appears when you start Word or Excel.

This error message appears when the translation function add-in for ATLAS in Word or Excel is not deleted after uninstalling ATLAS. For further information, please refer to "Compile Error in Hidden Module" error message when you start Word or Excel.
