New Features and Improved Points:

ScanSnap Manager

1. This product is Windows Vista-compatible.
2. You can now use Actions (Scan2Folder, Scan2E-mail, and Scan2Print) with this version of the program.
3. This version of the program offers the automatic image rotation function for scanning Korean documents.
4. With this version of the program, you can switch interacting applications just by launching a desired application.
5. New default profiles are added (in Windows Vista®).
6. You can now configure carrier sheet settings as attributes of each profile.

ScanSnap Organizer

1. This application can now be used with Window Vista®.
2. You can now set a Document Open Password for PDF files when attaching them to an e-mail message.
3. You can now receive a warning message when the combined file size of attached files exceeds a predetermined value.
4. To print PDF or JPEG files on a printer, you can specify the printer name and the number of copies.
5. When automatic conversion is enabled or "Execute when the computer is idle" is selected, you can suspend conversion to searchable PDF files manually.
6. You can now specify whether to skip pages with embedded text information or not when making PDF files searchable.
7. You can now use a Partial Match search for searching words.

Apply this update to install the latest version of ScanSnap Manager and ScanSnap Organizer.

Installation Instructions

Note:

• Although this ScanSnap Update Pack asks that users reboot their system after executing each program, you can avoid having to do this numerous times by selecting "Reboot later". Selecting "Reboot later" will enable you to complete upgrading your ScanSnap with only one reboot.
• Applications affected by this ScanSnap S500 Update Pack (Vista support) are not automatically downloaded by "online update".

How to update

1. Be sure you log into Windows® as a user with administrator privileges.
2. Download "ssv4020up.exe / OrgW3020.exe" onto your hard drive.
   Make sure you have enough free disk space (at least more than twice the download file size) for installing the programs.
3. Quit any applications that are running on your computer.
4. Power off or disconnect the ScanSnap scanner.
5. Execute the downloaded "ssv4020up.exe / OrgW3020.exe" file to start the update installation.
6. Follow the instructions from the Installation Wizard to complete the installation.
   Select [Open] when the message, "xxxxx is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?" displays during the installation.

Now that you have completed the update, please refer to "Readme" of ScanSnap Manager, "Readme" of ScanSnap Organizer file prior to use.
