Why my mobile device cannot connect to ScanSnap iX100?


Is the wireless access point/router functioned properly?
Have you set up Wi-Fi connection with ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool?
Are the ScanSnap iX100 and the mobile device connected to the wireless LAN environment?
Is the communication among the wireless devices disabled at the wireless access point?
Have you changed the router?
Is the ScanSnap Connect Application running in the mobile device?
Is a different mobile device already being connected?
Is ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool running on the computer?
Is the ScanSnap scanning to the computer?
Is there any network limitation for security?

Are the ScanSnap iX100 and the mobile device connected to the wireless LAN environment?

Solution:

  • Make sure the Wi-Fi switch at the back of the ScanSnap is turned on and that the Wi-Fi indicator in the front lights up in blue.

    If the Wi-Fi indicator lights up in orange, it means the ScanSnap is not connected to the wireless access point.
    Try the following actions:

    • Shorten the distance between the ScanSnap and the wireless access point.
    • Alter the position of the ScanSnap.
    • Avoid or remove any obstructs (e.g. walls or metal plates) or devices that may cause radio wave interference (e.g. microwaves, cordless phones or wireless devices) between the ScanSnap and the wireless access point.
    • Connect the ScanSnap and the computer with the USB cable to set up the wireless setting again with ScanSnap Wireless Setting tool or follow the recommended actions of the wireless diagnostics.
  • Close the cover (ADF paper chute) of the ScanSnap to turn it off and open the cover to turn it on again.
  • Restart the wireless access point to reset it.
  • Check the setting of the wireless LAN environment. Make sure it is connected to the wireless LAN network of which the mobile device is connected.
  • Make sure the ScanSnap and the mobile device are connected to the same wireless access point if there are two or more wireless access points.

    How to refer to SSID to which the mobile device is connected
    Run ScanSnap Connect Application, and click the [Network] icon on the [File List] screen. If you would like to change the network, disconnect the connection and set up the network connection from [Wi-Fi] under the [Settings] window.


Is the ScanSnap Connect Application running in the mobile device?

Solution:
Run ScanSnap Connect Application in the mobile device to connect to the wireless router.


Is a different mobile device already being connected?

Solution:
You can use only one mobile device to connect to the ScanSnap at the same time.
Try reconnecting to the ScanSnap after disconnecting other mobile devices.


Is ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool running on the computer?

You cannot connect the mobile device to the wireless access point while the computer is connected to the wireless access point with ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool.

Solution:
Exit ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and try connecting again.


Is the ScanSnap scanning to the computer?

You cannot connect the ScanSnap and the mobile device during scanning.

Solution:
Connect the mobile device after the scan is finished.
