The iX100 does not switch to Direct Connect mode automatically.

When [Auto mode] is set in the iX100, it does not switch to Direct Connect mode in the environment where the wireless network (SSID) that has been registered previously in Wireless Setup Tool can be found.
To use Direct Connect mode in such environment, follow the instructions below:

  • The iX100 switches to Direct Connect mode when it is restarted in the environment where the registered SSID cannot be found (outside the wireless access point range).

  • When you cannot use the computer:
You can force ScanSnap iX100 to switch to Direct Connect mode by operating from the scanner.

  • When you can use the computer:
Remove the wireless network of the mobile router with ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool. If you do not have to use Access Point Connect mode, you can remove all the registered access points so that the iX100 will always start in Direct Connect mode. There are two methods to switch to Direct Connect mode from the computer:

    1. Start ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and select [Wireless access point/router destination setting] from the [Extended] tab. Click the Recycle Bin or Trash Box icon shown on the right of the wireless access point to be removed.

      For Windows®:

      Connecting to a computer via Wi-Fi 008-01

      For Mac:

      Connecting to a computer via Wi-Fi 008-02

    2. Start ScanSnap Wireless Setup Tool and select [Wireless mode fixed setting]. The iX100 will always start in Direct Connect mode if you select Direct Connect mode.

      For Windows®:

      Connecting to a computer via Wi-Fi 008-01

      For Mac:

      Connecting to a computer via Wi-Fi 008-02

Once you selected Direct Connect mode, the iX100 will not automatically switch to Access Point Connect mode until you change this setting again.
