How do I migrate my data in ScanSnap Home to another computer?


Use [Import/Export] to migrate your data (content data records) in the following situations:

  • When you want to migrate your data to ScanSnap Home installed on another computer.
  • When you want to migrate your data saved in a network folder to a folder on your computer.
  • When you want to migrate your data between different drives on the same computer.

[IMPORTANT]

If you migrate your data using functions other than [Import/Export], meta information (e.g. basic information on the document and business card information) may be lost.


[Procedure]
The procedure differs according to OS. Click the OS of your computer, and you will be guided to the procedure for your OS.


Windows®

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

  2. Select [File] on the menu bar --> [Import/Export] to display the [Import/Export] window.

  3. On the [Import/Export] window, select [Export content data records] and click the [Next] button.

  4. Select the folder that you want to export and click the [Next] button.

  5. Confirm that the folder name selected in 4. is shown under "Folder to export".
    Click [Browse] and select a folder for the save destination, then click [Export].

  6. Export file is generated in sswa format. When a message appears on the Export contents data window notifying the completion of export, click [OK].

    To migrate data to another computer, proceed to 7. on the computer to import data to. To migrate data on the same computer, proceed to 9..

  7. Save the export file generated in 6. to a folder in the computer to import data to.
    NOTE:
    You need to transfer the export file to the computer to import data to, using a USB memory, etc.
  8. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

  9. Select [File] on the menu bar --> [Import/Export] to display the [Import/Export] window.

  10. On the [Import/Export] window, select [Import content data records], and click the [Next] button.

  11. Click [Browse] and select the export file saved in 7., then click [OK]. Confirm that "File to import" refers to the sswa format file and click [Next].

  12. Select [Specify an import destination for the content data records] and click the [Next] button.

  13. Select a folder that you want to import content data records to, and click the [Next] button.

  14. Click the [Import] button.

  15. When import is complete, click the [OK] button.

  16. Confirm that the imported folder is added to the folders list on the left pane of the Main Window.

macOS

  1. Display the Main Window of ScanSnap Home.

  4. Select a folder that you want to export and click the [Next] button.
