Images in my password-protected PDF file are not displayed properly.


When you set a password to a PDF file by using Preview on macOS Sierra v10.12 and when the PDF file includes a black and white image created with the following version of ScanSnap Manager, the image cannot be displayed.

  • ScanSnap iX500/iX100/S1300i/S1100i/SV600:
     ScanSnap Manager V6.3L50 or earlier
  • ScanSnap S1500/S1500M/S1100:
     ScanSnap Manager V3.2L80 or earlier
  • ScanSnap Evernote Edition:
     ScanSnap Manager Evernote Edition V1.0L40 or earlier

[Workaround]
It is possible to set a password to a PDF file created with the latest version of ScanSnap Manager by using Preview on macOS Sierra v10.12.
To set a password to a PDF file created with a version of ScanSnap Manager written above, use either method:
-Set a password by using Preview on macOS High Sierra v10.13.
-Set a password by using PDF editing software such as Nuance® PDF Converter for Mac and Adobe® Acrobat®.
