How large are ScanSnap created image files?


ScanSnap outputs files as compressed color images. While file size vary depending on the document contents and other scanning conditions, refer to the tables below for the file sizes of compressed image data under different modes and compression rates.

[Note] (Windows®)
"Color high compression" is most effective when used with "Best" mode. Also, by setting the compression rate and color high compression like the ways explained below, you will get better results.

  • File size can be reduced by using the compression rate (1 to 5) setting when scanning documents that contain pictures and diagrams.
  • File size for documents containing much text that have been scanned in "Best" mode can be reduced in size by selecting color high compression.
