This update does the following to the system software of fi-6010N:

  • Updates the system software with all Microsoft® security patches which were released before the end of January 2012
  • Adds a function which initializes an area by overwriting with random values, complying with the DoD 5220.22-M standard
  • Adds a function that makes the scanner check the timing of an update availability when entering Standby Mode
  • Enables users to install multiple Add-in modules
  • Enables users to distribute Add-in setting information using the AdminTool
  • Enables users to develop Add-in modules which use a Web interface
  • Enables users to log in with their sAMAccount name
  • Enables users to specify another name for the administrator account
  • Enables users to specify the authentication level of LAN Manager
  • Adds a function that displays a power-off message when the user presses the Power button
  • Enables linkage to OpenLDAP
  • Adds a function that turns off the scanner lamp when the scanner shuts off
  • Enables users to distribute and update Add-in setting information using Scanner Central Admin.[*1]
  • Adds a function that enables automatic detection and registration of the scanner.[*1]

    [*1] This is required for Scanner Central Admin 04.01.15 or later.

This update resolves the following malfunctions:

  • A file could not be uploaded with the Scan to SharePoint® function when the 475 files or more exist on the server.
  • A job could be set with AdminTool even after enabling Scanner Central Admin connection and job sharing.
  • Applying updates may fail when using AdminTool.

The following function has been added:

  • Microsoft® security patches which were released before the end of August 2011 are included.

The following malfunctions have been resolved:

  • Script errors may occur when Admin Tool is used with OS which has Microsoft® Internet Explorer 9.
  • The scanner may not start up if it is forcibly turned off.
  • User information may not be encrypted when it is restored through Admin Tool.
  • When the Add-in which does not display the Main Menu is installed, the lamp of the scanner may not turn off even when the power is turned off.

Central Admin Server Content of change from 02.05.13 to 02.05.16

The following malfunction has been resolved:

  • Script errors may occur when Central Admin Console is used with OS which has Microsoft® Internet Explorer 9.

  • There is the case that the starting up of the Network Scanner cannot be completed and the Windows login dialog appears on the screen.

The following functions have been added:

  • Automatic update check.
  • Microsoft security patches released before March, 2011 are included.
  • Scanning start by pushing the scan button becomes quicker.

The following malfunctions have been resolved:

  • There were cases where file cannot be stored as the error occurs when storing the file on the SharePoint® server.
  • There were cases where Access error occurs when storing the files on the SharePoint® server.

The following functions have been added:

  • Security is enhanced.
  • The linkage to Microsoft® SharePoint® Server 2010 is supported.

The following malfunctions have been resolved:

  • There were cases where scanner operation terminates unexpectedly without displaying the authentication screen for the user name and password, if the user directly inputs the path name when setting a network folder.
  • There were cases where the system update cannot be applied.
  • There were cases where the elapsed time before the scanner enters power saving mode is not correct.

Central Admin Server Content of change from 02.05.10 to 02.05.11

The following malfunction has been resolved:

  • Central Admin Server cannot be installed correctly.
    Central Admin Server V2.1 "02.05.yy" cannot be installed onto a PC that has Central Admin Server V2.1 "02.05.xx " installed.

    Note: yy is the later version than xx.
02.05.07 => 02.05.09 Version remains "02.05.07
02.05.07 => 02.05.10 Version remains "02.05.07"
A SharePoint® folder cannot be distributed from Central Admin Server.
02.05.09 => 02.05.10 Update process fails and the version rolls back to "02.05.09".

The following malfunctions have been resolved:

The following malfunctions have been resolved:

Network Folder or Network Printer cannot be set by specifying Network path, and the following error message appears.
Error message: Operation not possible. Network path is not working.

  • The latest OS versions are now supported:
    - MicrosoftR Windows® 7
    - MicrosoftR Windows Server™ 2008 Release 2
  • System operability is enhanced.
  • Scan function is enhanced.
  • Mail linkage is enhanced.

The following malfunctions have been resolved:

  • There are cases where an image scanned in Multi TIFF format does not show when image file browsing.
  • E-mail sending failed intermittently.
  • When an acquisition level for maintenance information was “1”, the network trace summary information could not be acquired.
  • When the Add in debug tool was used, the page scanning completion event was not called each time a page was scanned.
  • When the scanner joined a domain, a plane white window appeared instead of the log-in window after the scanner was powered on.
  • When a network shared folder was specified in the Windows® Distributed File System, either the Scanner operation was not possible, or the Network path was not working.
  • The user could not specify a virtual directory as a network shared folder in the FTP server.
  • When the user sets the resolution to 600dpi for Job Settings, page orientation setting unexpectedly switched from AUTO to OFF.
  • An unexpected error (F3090004) occurred during Job execution.
  • The scanner logs off the user instead of entering Standby mode after a certain amount of time has passed.
  • After a system update was completed from the Central Admin Server, the system environment settings from the distributed update were distributed again.
  • There were cases where it took time for the scanner to start up when it was linked to the Central Admin Server.
  • The log-in process was delayed for approximately one minute under certain conditions.
  • The first document image did not fully display in the Preview window.
  • The following unexpected errors occurred under certain conditions:
    - Error code: 03092101
    - Detail code: 000008ca
  • The Admin Tool and Central Admin Server were not linked to the scanner due to an invalid combination of the operation environments being configured.

    (Port No. should be 80 when the SSL communication is set to “Invalid”)

  • A system error occurred.
    - Error Message: Internal error has occurred
    - Error Details: Environment failed to access the ManagerPolicy.
        -->WebSite Setting 18. The software is modified to show the correct character strings.
  • Invalid character strings randomly appeared in the screen and in message boxes.
