Replacing the Consumables

When replacing the consumables, follow the appropriate procedure below depending on the consumable to be replaced.


ATTENTION: You must reset the Page Counter for each consumable to replace.
Refer to the last section (5) of this page for the procedure to reset the Page Counters.

(1) Replacing the Pad
  1. Remove all documents from the Stacker.
  2. Open the ADF Cover by pressing the ADF Open Button.

    The ADF Cover will open by itself.

  3. Move the Pad to the left, then pull it up in order to remove it from the scanner.

  4. Install a new Pad in the reverse order of the detachment.
  5. Close the ADF Cover.

    Press the ADF Cover until it is latched.

    CAUTION:
    • When closing the ADF Cover, make sure the transport path is free from any debris.
    • Be careful not to pinch your fingers.

    Reset the Page Counter according to (5).

(2) Replacing the Pick Rollers
  1. Remove the remaining documents on the stacker.
  2. Press the ADF Cover Open Button.

    The ADF Cover will open by itself.

  3. Open the Roller Cover.

    Put your fingers in the indented parts on the left and right sides of the cover, pinch the edges, and then pull the cover towards you to open.

  4. While lifting up the tab, pull the two Pick Rollers (left and right) out from the shaft for removal.

  5. Install two new Pick Rollers in the reverse order of the detachment.
    Put the rollers correctly on the shaft, and press in until they lock into place.
  6. Close the Roller Cover.
  7. Close the ADF Cover.

    Press the ADF cover until it is locked.


    CAUTION:
    • When closing the ADF cover, make sure the transport path is free from any debris.
    • Be careful not to pinch your fingers.

    Reset the Page Counter according to (5).

(3) Replacing the Separator Rollers
  1. Remove all the documents on the Stacker.
  2. Press the ADF Cover Open Buton.

    The ADF Cover will open by itself.

  3. Open the Roller Cover.
    Put your fingers in the indented parts on the left and right sides of the cover, pinch the edges, and then pull the cover towards you to open.

  4. Slide the two Separation Rollers (left and right).

    → The shaft will lock to allow removal of the rollers.

  5. Pull the rollers from their shafts.
    Remove both of the left and the right side rollers.

  6. Put the new rollers (2 rollers, left and right) on the shafts.
    Align the Protrusion with the groove on the Separation Roller to put the roller on the shaft.

  7. Close the Roller Cover.
    → The Separation Rollers will be locked in place automatically.

  8. Close the ADF Cover.

    Press the ADF Cover until it is locked.


    CAUTION:

    • Be careful not to pinch your fingers.

    Reset the Page Counter according to (5).

(4) Replacing the Brake Roller
  1. Open the ADF Cover pressing the ADF Cover Open Button.

  2. Open the Pad ASSY Cover on the lower transport path.
    Push the left and right sides of the cover inwards with your fingers and pull the cover towards you to open.

  3. Remove the Brake Roller.

  4. Install the new Brake Roller.
    After insterting the right shaft into the hole, attach the shaft on the left side.

  5. Close the Pad ASSY Cover.
  6. Close the ADF Cover.
(5) Reset the Page Counter
  1. Confirm the scanner is connected to the PC before turning of the scanner.
  2. From the [Start] menu, select [All Programs] → [Scanner Utility for Microsoft Windows] → [Software Operartion Panel].

    → The "FUJITSU Software Operation Panel" window appears.


    CAUTION: If the [Software Operation Panel] is password protected, enter the password to cancel the View Only mode. For details on how to enter the password to cancel the View Only mode, refer to the fi-5950 Operator's Guide "8.1 Scanner Settings".

  3. Select the [device settings] tab.

    → The following screen appears.

  4. Click the [Clear] button beside the replaced consumable, and then click the [OK] button. Click the [OK] button again on the message that appears.

    → The value of the counter will be reset to "0."
