Multifeed Detected

When a multifeed occurs, one of the following error codes is displayed on the LCD of the scanner's operator panel.

J2:55 Multifeed detected (Overlap)
J2:56 Multifeed detected (Length)

 

Press the [Eject] button on the operator panel to eject the document from the paper path. Or open the ADF, and then remove the document.

If multifeeds frequently occur, check the following points and take necessary actions.

 

Are the multifeed detection conditions and paper quality requirements satisfied? No

Confirm whether the documents satisfy the requirements described in Multifeed Detection Conditions and Paper Quality.

Are the multifeed detection conditions satisfied when the Multifeed Detection function is enabled? No

Configure the settings so that the Multifeed Detection Conditions are satisfied.

Did you fan the document before loading it into the scanner? No

Has the document just been printed with a copier or laser printer? Yes

Fan the document three to four times to remove static electricity.

  1. Total height of 50 mm or less (up to 500 sheets of 80 g/m² documents)
  2. Total weight of 5 kg or less
