Setting Documents on the ADF

  1. Preparing the documents:
    1. Confirm that all pages in the stack are of the same width.
    2. Confirm the number of sheets (thickness of stack) in the document stack.
Guidelines for thickness of stack (number of sheets) to be loaded are as follows:

A4 paper size or smaller: The thickness of the document stack should be 20mm or less.
    (200 sheets of 80 g/m2 paper)

Paper larger than A4 size: The thickness of the document stack should be 10mm or less.
    (100 sheets of 80 g/m2 paper)

  2. Fan the document pages.

Before loading a document stack, please refer to the section "How to fan documents".

  3. Align the edges of the documents.
  4. Load the documents onto the ADF paper chute so that the documents face down.
  5. Adjust the side guides to the width of the documents.
  6. Move the side guides so that they contact with both sides of the document pages. If there is any gap between the side guides and the edges of the document, document pages may feed in skewed.

The procedure can be viewed on the icon-movieVideo.
