Optical error

When an irregularity in the amount of light occurs, the following indications are displayed.

Optical error in the front side of ADF:
"E" and "2" display alternately on the function number display panel of the scanner.

"E" and "3" display alternately on the function number display panel of the scanner.

Follow the procedure below to clean the ADF.

  1. Turn off the scanner.
  2. Remove the document if there is any on the Stacker.

  3. Press the ADF Cover Open Button.

    The cover will open by itself.

    CAUTION: The glass surface inside the ADF can become extremely hot while operating the scanner. Be carefull not to touch the glass until it has cooled.

  4. Moisten a cloth with Cleaner F1 and wipe to clean the inside of the ADF.
    Clean the glass inside the ADF thoroughly and remove any stains and dust.

  5. Hold the ADF Cover with both hands and press it down slowly.
    Press the ADF cover until it is fixed.

  6. Turn the scanner on again.

If the normal functioning state does not recover when turning on the scanner again, contact the dealer where you purchased the scanner or an authorized FUJITSU scanner service provider and inform them of the error message number displayed in the Error Recovery Guide window.
