Fujitsu Mainframe Server GlobalServer GS8300 product information
There are two types of GS8300 system - C-type and M-type. The C-type contains integrated DASD controllers and disk drives which have capacities ranging from 3.8Gb up to 60.8Gb (in 1.89 or 3.78Gb increments), although they can also have external DASD attached. The M-type GS8300 system requires external DASD.
Both C and M type GS8300 systems have a built-in communications network processor (INP2) and a Local Area Network controller (LANC or LANC2). The M type processors support all the current Fujitsu GS operating systems - MSP-EX, MSP E20, XSP, whereas the C-type supports only XSP.
