ScanSnap's Stylish Full Model Change

The evolved, automatic function loaded, office productivity improving, ScanSnap S1500 and S1500M are now on sale.

ScanSnap^(*) products are a family of easy to use "one touch" personal document scanners that speedily convert paper-based data into PDF files. 600,000 ScanSnap scanners have been purchased globally since the first ScanSnap went on sale in 2003 and the latest additions to the family, the S1500 and the S1500M, are even further evolved than the well received proceeding S510 and S510M models.

Designed at an Italian design firm, the S1500 and the S1500M are refined automatic "intelligent feature"(ISW: Intelligent SoftWare functionality) armed personal document scanners that convert paper-based data into PDF files. By speedily converting various types of office documents into de-facto standard PDF files, not only do the S1500 and S1500M improve productivity, they will change how their owners work.

Main Features:

1. Scans documents at an impressive 20ppm/40ipm, regardless of the optical resolution
   The S1500 and the S1500M speedily and easily digitize various types of office documents with the touch of one button. And not only are both of the new ScanSnap scanners able to scan at an impressive 20ppm/40ipm ^(*2) when set to scan at 150dpi, 200dpi and 300dpi (Maximum of 3.3 times faster than S510 scanners), they are the first members of the ScanSnap family to come armed with highly valued ultrasonic multi-feed sensors.These ultrasonic multi-feed sensors recognize those rare times when a S1500 or S1500M simultaneously feeds 2 or more pages, thus enabling the latest ScanSnap scanners to offer even faster scanning and improved productivity.
2. Loaded with Intelligent SoftWare (ISW) functionality for enhanced PDF process
   ScanSnap bundled automatic PDF processing functionality has been further enhanced with the following 5 new productivity boosting functions (*3):
   
   1. Image search "intelligent indexing function"
      The "intelligent index function"processes marked words and phrases with its OCR functionality so that users can search keywords in S1500 and S1500M generated PDF files. As a result, ScanSnap users can use WindowsR desktop search functionality to quickly and easily search S1500 and S1500M generated PDF files.
   2. PDF embedded keyword information utilizing "automatic keyword sort function"
      The S1500 and the S1500M come armed with an automatic keyword sort function that automatically assigns which folders ScanSnap generated PDF files will be saved in, according to keywords that have been extracted from the ScanSnap generated PDF file.
   3. The world's first^(*4) "A3 carrier sheet mixed batch feeding function"
      The S1500 and the S1500M support the world's first "A3 carrier sheet mixed batch feeding function", which enables ScanSnap users to scan up to 10 document containing carrier sheets successively or mixed in with regular paper documents. Therefore, use of this function improves digitizing efficiency by freeing S1500 and S1500M users from having to sort documents prior to scanning.
   4. "Intelligent cropping function"
      This feature enables users to easily "cut out" digitized copies of newspaper and magazine articles that have been outlined on the original paper document with a highlight pen.
   5. "Automatic color recognition function"
      The new automatic color recognition function distinguishes color, monochrome and grayscale images and converts them into the appropriate PDF file type for data compression purposes.
3. Loaded with multiple useful functions that meet various business needs
   
   1. S1500M bundled business card information management software (Mac model)
      The S1500M is the first Mac supporting ScanSnap to come bundled with "CardMinder"^(*5) business card managing software. By enabling Mac product users to utilize business card information that has been converted to PDF files, ScanSnap helps people further improve their way of doing business.
   2. ScanSnap S1500 was jointly launched with Raku2-library(Rakuraku-library) V5.0 (Windows® supporting software)
      The S1500 has been jointly launched with Raku2-library V5.0, the latest version of PFU Limited's document filing software, which offers further enhanced uniform management of S1500 generated images and other digitized data in a format that can be "flipped through" like a regular file. Raku2-library, which enables users to save digital data in realistic looking book cases and files, is loaded with features that enable it to display virtual binder search results and to change the order in which data appears on index pages.
   3. ScanSnap S1500 / Raku2-library V5.0 Bundled Model (Supports Windows®)
      ScanSnap S1500 can also be bought bundled together with Raku2-library V5.0. Raku2-library's perfect fit with ScanSnap scanners makes the ScanSnap S1500 / Raku2-library V5.0 bundled model a speedy, easy to use package that further enhances how digitized documents can be managed.
4. Seamless Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server (MOSS) Linkability
   S1500 Microsoft® Office SharePoint® Server linkability, which was co-developed with KnowledgeLake, eases the sharing of scanned data. This easy to use digitized document archiving system further eases the sharing of data that has been digitized by ScanSnap scanners or other means.
