Release of Fujitsu fi-4530C World's Smallest A3 Duplex Color Image Scanner

-- Strengthening the Lineup of "Fujitsu fi Series" Image Scanners --

PFU Ltd. (President: Mr. Eiji Katano, Tokyo Head Office: Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture) will commence sales of the "Fujitsu Image Scanner fi Series" （*1） "fi-4530C" in mid-June, 2003, through PFU, Fujitsu and the Fujitsu Group companies. (Orders will be received from May 23)

The new product "fi-4530C" is a color scanner equipped with its own Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) （*2） capable of simultaneously scanning double-side A3 documents, and is a high end model of the fi-4120C series with sales of 70,000 units last year.
While maintaining the high reliability of ADF, which is a feature of the "fi series", we were able to realize an A3-size scanner, the smallest in the world in its class, and an ideal scanner for distributed input management systems.
The main features of “fi-4530C” are as below.

• World’s smallest A3-size scanner in its class (399 mm width x 225 mm depth x 193 mm height)
• Equipped with ultrasonic multi feed sensor to detect multiple feed of sheets
• Equipped with Ultra- SCSI/ USB 2.0 dual interface
• High speed duplex scanning at 35 sheets per minute (when scanning A4 sheets, 200 dpi color)
• Feeds sheets steadily, thanks to the straight paper path

• Multi-feed sensor
  Equipped with an ultrasonic type multi feed sensor to detect multiple feed of two or more sheets. Can detect multi-feed even when the sheets to be scanned differ in thickness, size, color, and density.
• Ultra SCSI/ USB 2.0 dual interface
  Provided with Ultra- SCSI, a standard high speed transmission interface in the past, and also a USB 2.0 port capable of high speed transmissions
• High speed duplex scanning
  High speed scanning at 35 sheets per minute (when scanning A4 sheets, 200 dpi color)
• Straight paper path
  Thick sheets that cannot be scanned in a U-shaped paper path or sheets with many curls or creases that cause paper jams, can be steadily fed, thanks to the straight paper path.
