AP3000 S housing (8-node configuration)

A scalar parallel supercomputer introduced in 1996 as a successor to the AP1000. Employing S family workstations equipped with the general purpose Solaris operating system as its nodes, it had a greatly expanded range of application compared to its predecessor. Cell linkage was achieved using the newly-developed AP-Net high-speed communication network.
