INTERSTAGE (later “Interstage”) was released in 1998 as a solution for distributed system environments in the Internet era of network computing. As an operation environment for open applications including CORBA-based transaction processing functions, execution environments for component-oriented applications, functions to communicate with various destinations including existing systems, and Web server functions, it enabled system operation which effectively utilized existing assets.
