In 2000, PRIMERGY was introduced as a globally-standardized brand of IA server and a successor to the GRANPOWER5000 series. At this time, 8 models in 3 types, consisting of entry servers, mid-range servers, and rack-mounted servers, were introduced. The highest-level N800 model was an enterprise server allowing configuration up to 8-way.
