New Support Service “SUSE Business Critical Linux” to Meet Industry Demand for Highly Reliable Support
Fujitsu and SUSE launched a new premium support service, “SUSE Business Critical Linux,” on July 1st which will be exclusively offered by Fujitsu over the next 12 months. Fujitsu has selected SUSE as its preferred Linux partner for this new premium Linux support service, which is a product of the two companies’ recently broadened strategic alliance to expand customer choice and flexibility.
With the accelerated adoption of Linux operating systems by enterprises worldwide, demand for higher-level support services is growing, especially in mission-critical areas where applications such as in-memory databases are running on Linux platforms. “SUSE Business Critical Linux” will be provided jointly by Fujitsu and SUSE to address customers’ evolving needs with a highly reliable, 24/7 support framework that significantly extends current support periods to up to eight years per SUSE service pack.
With this exclusive offering, Fujitsu and SUSE will help business customers cut risks, ensure around-the-clock application availability and long-term application stability, and optimize maintenance schedules and costs. Fujitsu will be the first point of contact for organizations running “SUSE Linux Enterprise Server” in mission-critical business areas.
The new service offering will help meet enterprise requirements for maximum data and application availability and rapid innovation in the data center, and will support the ever-increasing demands of mission-critical workloads.
Fujitsu will make “SUSE Business Critical Linux” available in EMEIA and Japan from July 1, 2017, to customers running “SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12” and “SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 High Availability Extension.” The service will subsequently be rolled out to other regions globally. Pricing varies according to region. “SUSE Business Critical Linux” covers all x86-64 platforms, both bare metal servers (FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY, FUJITSU Server PRIMEQUEST, FUJITSU Server BS2000 SE infrastructure and non-Fujitsu hosts) and virtual servers.
