Fujitsu Healthcare Solution Plus offers safe home care

Fujitsu’s new Fujitsu Healthcare Solution Plus is a digital care environment that supports the fast discharge of customers from the care unit and healthcare given at home.

Helsinki, 17 May, 2016 Fujitsu Healthcare Solution Plus”With this service the care unit’s modes of operation can be transformed to allow shorter hospitalization, virtual home visits, and real-time monitoring of the patient’s state. The service is designed for varied forms of healthcare provided at home,” says director Pirjo Nissinen-Kiviranta of Fujitsu.

”Fujitsu Healthcare Solution Plus increases safety in home care. It expedites discharge from hospital, offering a common communication channel for the family members. It also allows more efficient self-care and real-time connection to the care unit,” Nissinen-Kiviranta continues.

Social and care services provider Mainio Vire will be piloting the new Fujitsu Plus Healthcare solution over the summer.

”We want to be a forerunner and bring new virtual services to our customers through fast and agile trials. The best way to do this is through pilot projects, which allow us to test the compatibility of new solutions with our own services and processes. Our customers and their family members jumped at the opportunity to participate in our pilot project. We will gather use experiences from them and our own staff, and based on them decide on our next move,” says Director, Development and Quality Riitta Haapanen of Mainio Vire.

Using its nation-wide network, Fujitsu will deliver Fujitsu Healthcare Plus as a service, that is, take care of service initiation, use guidance and technical operability. The unit providing the care will pay a per-use-based monthly fee.

The Plus wellness package includes a wellness bracelet which is equipped with a safety phone for a video or audio connection. Moreover, the package contains end-devices for both the customer and the care unit with a video connection between the care unit, the patient and a family member.

The wellness bracelet and measuring equipment gather data on the wellness and functional ability of the customer. The end-device sends the customer’s wellness data to the care unit. The data is recorded in reports that the care unit monitors. The reports also allow them to offer more information to the family members on the wellness of the person cared at home.

The Fujitsu Healthcare Plus solution will be showcased at Lahti Fair Centre on May 24–25, 2016.
