Tiera and Fujitsu Finland to collaborate on delivering ERP system to municipalities

Fujitsu Finland Oy and Kuntien Tiera Oy have signed a contract on collaboration covering application services for Tiera's ERP solution. The SAP based solution has been developed in cooperation with municipalities and it is designed for the use of Tiera's customer owners. 

Tiera is owned by approximately 250 local government agencies. Initially the new ERP solution will incorporate the financial accounting and HR modules. Later on it will expand to cover other functionalities that will serve the needs of the municipalities. 

”The new ERP solution allows us to significantly cut back on the number of systems. Duplication of effort will be reduced, which will result in faster case processing and decision-making. The solution is scalable and the systems have a shared database. Data transmission between different functions will take place in real time. The standardised deployment process allows for a fast deployment, however, depending on the preparedness of the customer organisation to execute the change,” says director Kristiina Lammila of Tiera. 

Fujitsu offers Tiera customers SAP system application support, enhancements and changes as well as project and specialist services.

”We conducted competitive bidding on the integrator service in compliance with the public procurement act. In evaluating the bids we compared delivery reliability, price and the appropriateness of the service model. With these criteria Fujitsu's bid won over the others,” Lammila says.

”Tiera's solution allows unifying the financial, procurement and reporting processes of the municipal administration. For an individual municipality this primarily brings benefits of scale and lower costs, as they no longer have to acquire licenses and services of their own. Fujitsu is responsible for the SAP integrator service, service management and the further development of the overall ERP solution together with Tiera and the customer organisations,” says director Irma Jousranta of Fujitsu.

The new agreement marks the continuation of the collaboration between Fujitsu and Tiera in the local government sector. The SARKK service, that is, the digital archive for municipalities, launched last spring is offered as part of Tiera's service offering. The archive service is designed for materials that the municipalities are required to save either temporarily or permanently.
