Arctech Helsinki Shipyard signs IT agreement with Fujitsu

Helsinki, 12 March, 2013

NB-506 Vitus BeringFujitsu Finland Oy has entered into an IT services agreement with Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Oy. The service will be implemented in accordance with the Patja service model and marks a continuation of the collaboration first launched in 2011.

Arctech, which was founded in December 2010, is a joint venture equally owned by STX Finland Oy and United Shipbuilding Corporation of Russia. Ever since it was established Fujitsu has been responsible for building up an entirely new Patja environment for the company, starting from AD (Active Directory service) and for setting up user support.

”Our co-operation has been all-around positive and we are happy with the service. The teams on both sides have the right attitude and approach to the job at hand. What we particularly appreciate is that users are able to work without disruptions and there is expertise available for our development projects. The on-the-field support service has an important role and our guy in on-site support is reliable and willing to serve,” says CIO Johan Fransman of Arctech.

Arctech's Patja service covers desktop, AD and availability services as well as server capacity. Moreover, it incorporates, among other things, LAN monitoring and management, WLAN, and product services.

”We are in a good situation, as our IT infrastructure environment is brand new and up-to-date. The quality metrics also tell tale of us being at a good place, our end-user survey average being 9,5,” Fransman says.
