Fujitsu Finland and Medixine to implement the citizen's Taltioni service

Helsinki, 19 September, 2012

The Taltioni service, which will promote wellness and health, will be launched in Finland at the turn of the year.  Taltioni cooperative and Fujitsu Finland Oy have entered into an agreement on the deployment and maintenance of the Taltioni service as a continued service.

Taltioni is a new electronic service platform for promoting health and self-care. It will allow Finns to manage the data related to their own health and wellness. An important goal of this project endorsed by Sitra (The Finnish Innovation Fund) is to shift the emphasis from treating illnesses to preventive healthcare. The first services are slated to be available for citizens in early 2013.

Medixine Oy is responsible for the software part of the Taltioni service. The solution is built on Medixine's technical platform and a product called Clinic.  Together they form a unified service platform that is based on open, standard interfaces and is customisable to future needs.

Fujitsu, in its turn, is responsible for setting up and delivering the services, for their capacity, availability, support, management and development services as well as for the deployment of Taltioni's own authentication and certificate service.

”Fujitsu was selected as our service vendor, because they have a solid network of experts and an impressive track record of implementing demanding data centre service environments.  Information security and the authentication solution were also among the decisive factors,” says MD Tuomas Teuri of Taltioni cooperation.

Among data that can be added to Taltioni's personal health account include information on vaccinations, blood pressure measurements, as well as food and exercise diaries. With the help of various analysing services, citizens will be able to establish an overall idea of their health and the factors that contribute in it, which will allows them to make right decisions and improve their health.
