ETERNUS DX8900 S4 records the world's highest performance value

We conducted performance measurements using the SPC Benchmark-1TM (SPC-1 V3.8), as defined by the Storage Performance Council (*1), for the hybrid storage system ETERNUS DX8900 S4 for enterprise, resulting in a recorded value of 10,001,522 for the SPC-1 IOPSTM. This value has not only proven to be currently the world's fastest storage (*2), but was also able to demonstrate excellent latency and supreme performance.

The SPC Benchmark-1 test program is designed for business-critical applications that experience complex processing. The workloads found in online transactions (OLTP), databases, mail systems, etc., are simulated and random access read/write processing is performed.

The ETERNUS DX8900 S4 achieves high-speed responses of 0.249 milliseconds (SPC-1 Overall Response Time), in addition to recording data I/O operations at per second of 10,001,522 (SPC-1 IOPSTM). In this benchmark, the ETERNUS DX8900 S4 has been proven to be an optimal storage system by achieving the highest processing capacity in both random access performance and response time, which is used in mission critical environments such as databases and OLTPs, and in virtual server integrated environments where various high-speed processing tasks are required.

The measurement results were posted on the Storage Performance Council (SPC) website on March 26, 2019 and will be officially approved after a 60-day review period. (SPC-1 registration application number: A32009).

This time for ETERNUS DX8900 S4, we installed an SSD and ran the test program SPC Benchmark-1TM. With regards to the SSD materials, we cooperated with the Toshiba Memory Co., Ltd., an SSD supplier.

In Pursuit of Accelerated Understanding through ETERNUS
Fujitsu believes speeding up systems is directly linked to the "speeding up" of customers' businesses, and trust (quality) that can withstand speed is directly linked to the "reliability (quality)" provided to customers. That's why Fujitsu continues to work on developing "faster, more reliable" storage systems, which combine the technology, know-how, and the latest technologies from over 50 years of mainframe development. Fujitsu has joined the Storage Performance Council (SPC), which provides industry-standard performance metrics for different classes of workloads and large-scale sequential processing, in order to introduce customers to “The Pursuit of High Speed” in an easy-to-understand manner. The evaluation and verification of durable storage products are visualized and carried out.
