I'm Rolf Schmidt.2） ですdesuA noun used with です desu works as a predicate.です desu indicates judgment or assertion.です desu also conveys that the speaker is being polite towards the listener.です desu inflects when the sentence is negative or in the past tense.3） では　ありません dewa arimasenでは　ありません dewa arimasen is the negative form of です desu.■ ［わたしは］ジャック・シュミットでは　ありません。 ［Watashi wa］ Jack Schmidt dewa arimasen. I'm not Jack Schmidt. 2 N1 の no N2　N2 of N1の no is used to connect two nouns. N1 modifies N2.
