2013 Fujitsu Research and Development Center (FRDC) China Technology Forum (CTF) finished successfully at Zhenzhou, Henan Province.

On Aug 21 2013, the annual Fujitsu Research and Development Center China Technology Forum (FRDC-CTF) 2013 was convened successfully at Nobel International Hotel of Zhenzhou, Henan Province.

Nowadays urbanization and environment issues are concerned by all. How to integrate all core systems for city operation, such as human being, business, transportation, communication and energy with the help of new information and communication technologies of Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Social network and Decision Analysis Optimization, make them work smartly is an important project for constructing next-generation innovative city. The theme of this forum is “Smart city and Environment”. Nearly 200 experts and scholars from government agencies, universities and enterprises were invited and made excellent speeches about this topic.

Video resource increases explosively today, in the lecture of Hu Chuanpin, Chief Scientist of the Third Research Institute of the Ministry of Public Security, he introduced the structure description technology of video and its applications in informatization and intelligentialization of the police affairs. Along with continuous development of Internet of Things and Cloud Computing, industrialization, urbanization and informatization merged deeply in smart city and it is widely approved that what smart city means to the future development. Smart city makes the future cities more competitive. Nanjing is on the forefront of smart city. Tong Nongjun, the secretary of Nanjing Information Center, make the speech of “Innovation changes world, Smart creates future”, he introduced the improvement of Nanjing on smart city. The general manager of Foton Zhike Information Technology Service Ltd and Director of Haier, Mr.Zhou Hongbo, gave the lecture of “Internet of Things and E-Moto Internet of Things”, talked about principles and applications of the “e-Moto Internet of things”. Prof. Zhu Tong, Dean of College of Environmental Science and Engineering, PKU, made a speech about “Influence of air pollution on human health”, which is about the harmfulness of air pollution and researches related. Dr. Feng Shengbo, vice director of Energy Research Institute, National Development and Reform Commission, introduced the policies, regulations and plans related with smart city, analyzed and discussed energy environment of city which is close tied with smart city. The title of his speech is “Smart City and Energy Environment”. Zhang Guanghong of Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, discussed low-carbon and smart city about “Research and Experience of Smart Low-Carbon New City”.

Leaders from Fujitsu, includes Corporate Senior Vice President and President of China and JOC Business, Takashi Mori, Corporate Senior Vice President of Fujitsu Laboratories and Chairman of Fujitsu R&D Center, Shigeru Sasaki,President of Fujitsu Quality Laboratory Limited, Atsuhisa Takahashi, Vice President of Fujitsu Laboratories, Ei Yano, General Manager, Project Planning Division, Smart City Promotion Unit, Naoto Tada, President of Fujitsu Laboratories of America, Yasunori Kimura, Head of Media Processing Systems Laboratories, Shoji Suzuki. They presented in detail about the business, research achievements on smart city and environment of Fujitsu Group.

During the forum, FRDC exhibited 11 research results and the subsidiaries of Fujitsu in China also showed plenty of products and applications.

From 1999, Fujitsu Research and Development Center been founded, we held Academic Network annually. In 2009, this meeting was upgraded to Chinese Technology Forum. We expanded the participations from scholars in universities to experts of government agencies, institutes, technology enterprise and Fujitsu Laboratories of Japan, America and Europe. On the forum we shared our opinions about cutting-edge technologies, updated research progress and business tendency. It is a platform for us to communicate current applications and future development of technologies. CTF has lasted for 5 years, there were nearly 200 participants this year and the forum was favorably commented by the presents.

Year of 2013 is the 15th anniversary of FRDC. We celebrated the birthday for FRDC with our guests at the dinner party.
