Fujitsu Semiconductor launches MCU MB95560 Series with New Dual Channel Flash Technology

Fujitsu Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. today announces the release of MB95560 Series, a dual channel Flash 8-bit general-purpose microcontroller with the combination of high-security, high-precision and high-cost performance. This product series includes twelve 20-pin products from the MB95560 Series with built-in LIN-UART, six 16-pin products from the MB95580 Series, and six 8-pin products from MB95570 Series. New product samples will be available from August 2011 and product shipment will be commenced in October 2011.

MB95560 Series is totally pin-to-pin compatible with MB95260 Series. Based on the 8-bit microcontroller of “F2MC-New8FX Family”, this series of products applies dual channel Flash technology. This technology enables a program to operate on the Flash while performing read/write operation on another Flash channel, thereby protecting important data of customers. Moreover, this product series integrates a number of highly versatile timers, high resolution A/D converter, oscillation circuit, low-voltage detection circuit and LIN-UART circuit. This configuration significantly reduces the number of components in your system, thus lowering your product cost.

Products from the MB95560 Series achieve leading-edge low power consumption in the industry. The operating current is only 110 µA/MHz and the standby current 5 µA. This new product features 180 nm technology with high design efficiency. Advance technology is adopted to make MB95560 realize a higher degree of integration and precision. For instance, the chip is equipped with a 16.25MHz±1% oscillator (Note 1), Flash memory that supports background running and have 100000 program/erase cycles. It also achieves high accuracy with its internal A/D converter and low voltage detection circuit.

MB95560 uses the common development tool and software development environment of “F2MC-New8FX Family”. All products of this product series use 1-line on-chip debug function, which enables customers to debug with only a minimal number of pins during product development.

MB95560 Series can be applied to a wide range of small electrical appliances, digital electronic products, chargers, PC products, electric tools, remote control products, etc.

Series Features

  1. Adopting new technology to achieve low power consumption
    MB95560 Series adopts eight different levels of power-saving modes to balance the performance of MCU and power consumption. Using the Deep Standby Mode can cut off the power of the Flash module.
  2. Embedding peripheral modules in the LSI to reduce cost
    Some modules such as an external oscillator and a reset IC are embedded in the LSI as internal CR oscillation circuit, low-voltage detection circuit and watchdog time, thus reducing the total cost of a system.
    The CR oscillation circuit has a guaranteed oscillation accuracy of ±1% (Note 1).
  3. Equipped with high-performance Flash memory
    The high-performance Flash memory can re-program data while executing a program and has 100,000 program/erase cycles. The guaranteed data retention time is 20 years. Moreover, the Flash memory has a security function that prevents program from being illegally read by any external device and software intellectual property from leaking to any outsider.
