As a national key comprehensive university under the Ministry of Education, Wuhan University possesses strong scientific research ability with a wide range of disciplines and great achievements. Wuhan University is located in Hubei Province which is famous for its auto industry, and Fujitsu Microelectronics has a leading position in the area of automotive electronics which takes priority, the selection made by Fujitsu to cooperate with Wuhan University in Hubei Province will extend Fujitsu-university cooperation from consumer electronics to high-end auto electronics.

Fujitsu Microelectronics takes full consideration of local conditions in equipping products for the Joint Lab in Wuhan university. Fujitsu offers its advantageous products in the field of automotive electronics, In addition to the conventional 8-bit, 16-bit microcontroller, Fujitsu also provides the latest 32-bit microcontroller, and whole set of MB91F465K development tools. The whole products and software feature high performance, high reliability and is cost-effective, easy to develop. Take the 8-bit microcontroller MB95200 Series MCU for example, it features a single-line on chip debugging, to minimize the count of pins; 32-bit microcontroller MB91460 series based on FR, which can be used in car dashboard, body control, car infotainment and other CAN related applications, it go with beginner kits, simulator and programming tools that provide a broad room for innovations. Fujitsu Microelectronics tries to provide laboratory equipments which are best meet the needs of different students and different innovative experiments and research at all levels.

After the opening ceremony, Edwin Kwong, senior vice president of Asia Pacific of Fujitsu Microelectronics, delivered a speech, named "creative Future". In his speech, he encouraged the students to put innovation into their study and future work. His speech received enthusiastic echoes and interactions from the audience. After the opening ceremony, the students expressed that this speech has brought them with new thinking for their study and future careers. Mr. Edwin Kwong said: "Fujitsu Microelectronics has been dedicated to the education and professional training of Chinese semiconductor industry, thereby, to promote the development of the semiconductor industry. Wuhan University is the member of China’s National '985 Project 'and '211 Project' and has a leading position in electronic Information. It has trained nearly ten thousand senior engineers in decades. We set up this joint laboratory and scholarships with Wuhan University in hope to provide an effective platform to train more talents in order to promote technological innovation."

Shao-Dong Zhang, Dean of electronic information department of Wuhan University, said: "We committed to cultivate compound talents with the spirit of 'innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial' who have practical ability. We are very pleased to work with leading semiconductor companies such as Fujitsu Microelectronics, the joint lab not only provides a platform for professionals in the school, but also provides our students and teachers with a further understanding of Fujitsu’s advanced technologies and products, as well as the changing of information industry. We have been deeply impressed by the persistence and sincerity from Fujitsu Microelectronics. I believe our cooperation will be able to promote the university education and industrial development. "

As a leader in the semiconductor industry, Fujitsu Microelectronics has always attached great importance to the cultivation of Chinese personnel and development of higher education. To better integrate with the national high education, Fujitsu Microelectronics join hands with 6 prestigious universities in China and jointly established six joint labs, Through these platforms, We can consolidate the expertise of college students, so as to enhance their practical abilities and competitiveness. On the other hand, these platforms also help to assist the universities to carry out innovative projects, to improve the overall educational environment, and boost the combination of "production, study and research".
