Fujitsu Microelectronics joins hands with Xidian University to set up a MCU “Joint Lab”

Fujitsu Microelectronics (shanghai) Co.,Ltd. announced today, the company will further explore the “SRTP” project(Student Research Training Program) and jointly set up another MCU Lab with Xidian University. This Lab is the fourth Lab that Fujitsu Microelectronics jointly set up with Chinese universities. These Labs aims to provide a platform for the university students to take a practice in innovation, research, and training and better support the “SRTP” project.

The senior vice president of Fujitsu Microelectronics of Asia-pacific, Mr. Edwin Kwong, delivered a speech entitled “Study and Practice” on the opening ceremony. Mr. Edwin Kwong encouraged the students to combine their ideality with reality through clear analysis to their idealities. He is not only introduced the development and features of the semiconductor industry but also make use of Fujitsu’s products to tell the students how to innovate and practice with the related platforms and products. This speech is a good lesson between ideality and reality as well as the study and practice.

Fujitsu Microelectronics has been engaged in supporting China’s education and cultivation of IT talents since the foundation in Aug, 2003. In the early days, Fujitsu Microelectronics organized various activities to support china’s education, including, setting up scholarships for the university students, donating chips, organizing seminars and competitions for student research and innovations. In the last six months, Fujitsu Microelectronics enhanced its investments and set up 3 Labs with Shan’xi University of science & technology, Southwest Jiaotong University and Beijing Aeronautics and Astronautics University respectively. These Labs equipped with Fujitsu’s advanced MCU products, including, 8-bit micro controller F2MC-8FX family, MB95200 micro controller series, chips and development tools. All these measures opened the students’ horizon and provide an efficient platform for the students to take practices.

Xidian University is one of the key comprehensive universities that focused on the IT and electronic industries, it is also one of the “211 Project” university. Xidian University placed a great importance on the combination of study, research and production, and aimed at the conversion from technology to products. Xidian University has established 31 joint Labs with renowned enterprises home and abroad, and set up a production group to stepped up its technology innovation.

Mr. Edwin Kwong said” We choose Xidian University as a partner, because Xidian University has an important position in the electronic education, it has best-class faculties. Our cooperation will come to a good result. Fujitsu Microelectronics determined to take part in China’s education, our purpose is to open the student’s horizon, make the students creative and cultivate IT talents, and to put forward the development of electronic industry”.

The vice president of electronic engineering department of Xidian University, Shi Guangming said:” We could see the sincerity from Fujitsu Microelectronics through the previous cooperation. we believe that this joint Lab will promote our technology innovation and make the students better prepared for the future electronic industry.
