Sunnyvale, CA, May 08, 2019

Fujitsu America, Inc. today introduces the world’s lightest business convertible PC, the LIFEBOOK® U939X with integrated inductive charging pen garage. Fast and agile as a clamshell notebook, the super-slim U939X also folds flat, converting into a powerful Windows®-based tablet. Weighing in at just 2.2 pounds, this versatile new LIFEBOOK enables business power users to replace both a conventional notebook and a tablet with a single device.

The 13.3-inch LIFEBOOK U939X, protected by a robust magnesium shell, boasts a super high-density anti-glare touchscreen display with pen and a full-size keyboard. Connectivity is assured thanks to both HDMI® and Ethernet ports, meaning there is no need to carry around adaptors to connect to corporate networks.

Packed with the latest Intel® Core™ vPro® processor to provide leading performance, the LIFEBOOK U939X features the highly accurate pen with Wacom AES technology. In tablet mode, this makes it easy to annotate documents, as well as input digital signatures direct to the device.

Competitively priced LIFEBOOK U729X also joins convertible line-up
The competitively-priced little brother of the U939X is the FUJITSU Tablet LIFEBOOK U729X. This is an upgraded, next-generation successor to the popular highly portable Lifebook P series. The U729X comes with a 12.5-inch full HD touch display that folds flat in tablet mode, and comes complete with a Wacom pen and inductive charging pen garage.

Second-generation of Fujitsu two-pound ultra-lightweight business notebook LIFEBOOK U939
Additionally, Fujitsu has upgraded the super-light LIFEBOOK U939 ultra-mobile with new features, without increasing the weight – which remains constant at just two pounds. The second-generation clamshell model gains an infrared camera – enabling the secure use of Windows Hello for convenient logon, an anti-glare touchscreen and a backlit keyboard, as well as performance and graphics upgrades.

Both the LIFEBOOK U939X and LIFEBOOK U939 as well as the U729X include Fujitsu PalmSecure® biometric authentication technology and feature a choice of the latest, eighth generation Intel® Core™ vPro® processors. Also new for the U939X and U939 is the introduction of Intel® Thunderbolt™ 3 technology, enabling the connection of multiple displays or devices through a single, compact USB Type-C® port.

Heather Engen, Head of Platform Products Group at Fujitsu America, Inc., says: “As the popularity of foldable notebooks increases among business users, Fujitsu is addressing that demand with our innovative new LIFEBOOK models. We’re meeting the expanded needs of business users by providing the full functionality they expect in a clamshell model, but adding the convenience of a fold-flat screen for tablet mode usage. The on-screen handwriting, image notation and real digital signature capture inspires creativity, efficiency and confidence. As any frequent flyer will also attest, having a convertible PC allows for more comfortable working conditions than a standard clamshell model when confined to an airline seat. Based on the popularity of the predecessor models, we’re even more excited for our users to experience the new enhancements to the super lightweight LIFEBOOOK U939X and LIFEBOOK U939 models.”

Fujitsu introduces performance upgrades across the LIFEBOOK and STYLISTIC® line-up Overall, Fujitsu has upgraded its entire LIFEBOOK U-series line-up. The advanced class LIFEBOOK U7x9 models – available with screen sizes of 12.5, 14 and 15.6 inches – gain Intel® Thunderbolt™ 3 for USB Type-C, and an HDMI output.

In addition, the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T939, STYLISTIC Q739 and STYLISTIC Q509 were also updated. The Fujitsu Tablet LIFEBOOK T939, a top performer with a twist, has full-HD anti-glare display with 360° rotatable swivel hinge and a host of features such as touch and pen support, a pen garage with inductive charging functionality, and PalmSecure® to meet the highest security standards. The Fujitsu Tablet STYLISTIC Q739, where tablet mobility meets notebook productivity, also has full-HD anti-glare display, touch and pen support, and a pen garage with inductive charging functionality, as well as reinforced corners. The STYLISTIC Q509 features an upgraded CPU and was enhanced to deliver faster charging.

Fujitsu offers other refreshed models, which carry the latest, eighth generation Intel® Core™ vPro® processors, including models in the LIFEBOOK E5 series.

Pricing and availability
The LIFEBOOK U939X and the LIFEBOOK U939 come in two colors: Fujitsu red and business black. The full line-up of Fujitsu LIFEBOOK notebooks and STYLISTIC tablets is available to order immediately on a global basis – directly from Fujitsu and via resellers.
