Fujitsu Boosts the Fury Supercat

Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc.

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, August 10, 2009

furyFujitsu Caribbean today announced it’s sponsorship of the FURY Supercat to participate in the 2009 Great Race. Just over one month ago the FURY Supercat flipped upside down while testing in Sarasota during the Suncoast Offshore Superboat Grand Prix. With sponsorship from Fujitsu, Mercury Racing rebuilt the engines, the boat builder Doug Wright repaired the damage to the deck from the crash and TNT Custom Marine in Miami rebuilt the drives and totally re-rigged the boat. Now dubbed the Fujitsu Fury, the quest for sailing’s ultimate prize at the 2009 Great Race begins in earnest.

Fujitsu Fury arrives this week in Trinidad just in time for the Great Race Boat Parade this Sunday Aug 16. Fujitsu Fury will offer Mr Solo a real challenge for the title of this year’s Great Race Champion. The crew of Fujitsu Fury eagerly awaits the start of the race on Aug 29 and anticipates the most exciting race of recent times. Fujitsu Fury will be piloted by world renowned and 9 times World Champion John Tomlinson, one of the best Throttle men racing today.

“As a sponsor, we take immense pride in supporting the Fujitsu Fury and its crew. Staying competitive and winning depends on having the commitment and trust of the best people and teams with real passion and tenacity to stay the long-term and stick with it – the true spirit of Fujitsu; said Ian GALT, EVP, Fujitsu Caribbean. “We are sure the Fujitsu Fury will do well and we are proud to associate the Fujitsu brand with this event”, he further added.
