Dr Evan Hemans is the Head of Digital Technology Services at Fujitsu Caribbean, where he is responsible for leading the regional services organization. In his role, Evan leads the company’s strategic direction and drives business growth by developing and deploying industry-focused, IP-based, innovative solutions enabled by emerging digital technologies such as AI, Advanced Analytics, Blockchain, IoT and Cyber Security.
Evan is a natural team builder, motivated by analyzing and resolving business strategy, organizational and governance challenges, and delivering real long-term solutions. He has a proven record of accomplishment delivering transformational change in services delivery across industries, looking beyond the technical horizon into strategy, governance, culture, and the real dynamics of business transformation. Leveraging more than 25 years of experience developed in the telecom industry and working across all sectors, Evan is exceptionally adept at working with and garnering consensus from all layers of management up to board level.
Evan joined Fujitsu Caribbean in 2006 and was instrumental in the physical design and build-out of the region’s first Tier III, design certified data centre and SOC 2 Type 2, ISO27001 certified Enterprise Operations Center (EOC); located in Trinidad. He leads and directs the delivery of our Digital Business and Technology Services, Enterprise and Cyber Security, Project Management and Logistics functions regionally. As part of his remit, he is responsible for the standardization and application of world-class digital tools and processes to facilitate the development of common, optimum solutions that drive efficiency and deliver fast rollout of new digital services. Under his leadership, the company has transformed its services delivery organization and introduced many advanced technologies and customer-centric solutions to market.
Before joining Fujitsu, he held senior management positions at Cable and Wireless Jamaica Limited, where he served in several leadership capacities across Sales Operations, International and Domestic Service Management, Pre-sales Engineering and Business Analysis.
Evan possesses a wealth of experience in building customer relationships at a senior level, providing a broad range of skills developed during a diverse and successful career, as well as proven expertise managing Service Delivery Teams and delivering customer-focused service. His areas of expertise include Information Technology Strategy, Organization and Governance, Business Consultancy, and Operational Risk Management.
Evan is a Caribbean national and holds Doctor of Business Administration degree specializing in Organizational Behaviour, Strategic management and Business Administration, from the University of Liverpool, as well as a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing from the Mona School of Business (UWI) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Florida Atlantic University.
