Fujitsu Launches a Class-Leading Range of Scanners

New features enable users to make scanning easy and efficient

Fujitsu Canada, Inc.

Mississauga, ON, January 18, 2012

Fujitsu, the market leader in document imaging scanners, today introduced four new scanner models: fi-6130Z, fi-6230Z, fi-6140Z and fi-6240Z. These new Workgroup and Departmental scanners continue the Fujitsu tradition of providing unmatched scanning performance and ease of use at a competitive price.

For the first time, Fujitsu is offering ScanSnap mode on Workgroup and Departmental level scanners providing the acclaimed Scan to PDF capability of Fujitsu’s ScanSnap products on high performance scanners. ScanSnap mode allows users to create PDF files by simply pressing the SCAN button on the scanner without the need to adjust any scanner settings.

Fujitsu’s newly released series also provides a new centralized administration function making it possible to monitor all scanners on the network from one terminal. This significantly reduces costs and labour when installing and managing large volumes of scanners at an organization and when expanding a scanner network to multiple remote locations.

Different sizes, shapes and thicknesses of paper, and even embossed plastic cards, are all handled effortlessly due to Fujitsu’s robust brake roller/pick roller design. “The advanced paper feeding technology incorporated into these models provides the versatility required in an office today,” said Steve Oblin, Senior Marketing Manager for Fujitsu Canada’s Imaging Products. The fi-6140Z and fi-6240Z can scan 60 pages per minute (ppm) / 120 images per minute (ipm) whereas the fi-6130Z and fi-6230Z have speeds of 40 ppm / 80 ipm.

Bundled with Software Tools for Business

ScandAll PRO V2 - Boost productivity with enhanced job separation: ScandAll PRO features a job separation function that can divide and save image data from batches of documents using separator codes printed on divider sheets. The fi-6140Z and fi-6240Z come with ScandAll PRO V2 Premium (fi-6130Z and fi-6230Z users can purchase the software as an option). Premium features more advanced job separation using 2D barcodes (matrix codes). The job separation function is sure to bring new levels of efficiency and productivity to all your work processes.

Kofax VRS 5.0 Professional - The VRS software works by automatically adjusting scan settings to best suit the qualities of a document in order to produce exceptionally clear image data which is optimized for technologies like OCR.

ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap - Provides Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to quickly convert your paper documents into editable MS Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents.
