PRIMERGY Clustering and Disaster Tolerance

Clusters for business-critical applications

PRIMERGY clustering and disaster tolerance Enterprise business processes running on Intel-based servers deliver real benefits. But as demands and loads increase, maintaining elevated stability and availability can be problematic. Cluster solutions, like the configuring of several servers to form a system network, can help. Fujitsu has decades of experience with cluster technology and project implementation in mainframe and UNIX environments. High-availability tools such as PRIMERGY MultiPath
and DuplexDataManager can be combined with Microsoft Windows Cluster Server environments to produce disaster-tolerant configurations.

PRIMERGY DuplexDataManager

The PRIMERGY DuplexDataManager permits operation of redundant disk storage subsystems with data mirroring over long distances. By combining these functions with cluster solutions and Fiber Channel technology, remote “shadow” data centers can be created, ensuring permanent IT availability even in the event of a disaster. DuplexDataManager allows the distance and speed benefits of Fibre Channel to be exploited to their fullest.

Microsoft Cluster Servers

The Microsoft Cluster Server configuration consists of two independent Windows-based servers. These are interconnected and appear to the user as a single server system. Network-based clients have full access to all the resources in the cluster, and if one server fails, the other automatically takes over the functions it was performing.
