Fujitsu achieved a 16 percent year-on-year growth in sales revenues in EMEA during the fourth quarter of 2009, according to figures* published by the international market intelligence firm, IDC. This industry-leading revenue growth was achieved ahead of a broadly declining market trend.
The main growth engine driving this result was the rapid customer adoption of Fujitsu’s ETERNUS DX60 and DX80 disk systems, introduced in 2009. The systems are designed for the needs of small- and mid-size enterprises, with features such as improved redundancy, simplified management and reduced power consumption. The ETERNUS DX models also pack high-end features such as online data migration, ensuring that they provide adequate performance and capacity throughout the data lifecycle.
Eric Sheppard, IDC’s Programme Director, European Disk Storage Systems, says: “Fujitsu’s 16 percent fourth quarter EMEA market growth is an important sign that the company’s recent rebranding efforts are paying dividends and that the ETERNUS DX family is addressing the needs of the small and mid-range storage market.”
The sales boost comes after Fujitsu consolidated its entire global portfolio of versatile, highly available storage products and data protection solutions under the ETERNUS brand in June 2009. The RAID storage systems ETERNUS DX60 and DX80 were introduced at the same time.
One satisfied ETERNUS customer is Andrea Angiolini, Technical Manager IT Systems at the Italian Ministry of Labor and Welfare. He says: “Within our technological innovation program, to consolidate business-critical data warehousing services, we chose the ETERNUS DX from Fujitsu, for its reliability, flexibility and the high-performing technology. Using Fujitsu technology allowed the Italian Ministry of Labor to introduce advanced processing solutions, and to gain more availability and better performance from our IT systems. Fujitsu’s highly-qualified team also helped us with the integration of the new systems, helping to guarantee a significant improvement in service level.”
