Pocket LOOX Set to Hit Asia Pacific in Quarter 2, 2002

Global Launch of Sleek New PDA with Advanced Connectivity Features

Singapore, 12 March 2002 — Fujitsu and its group affiliates announced today the global launch of the Pocket LOOX, a sleek new handheld PDA designed to serve as a powerful enabler of mobility for demanding business users and consumers. The designer PDA, which will go on sale from Q2 2002, will preview at the Fujitsu Siemens Computers' booth (Hall 1, Stand 5e2) at CeBIT from March 13 - 20 in Hannover, Germany.

Latest Intel® PXA250 Applications Processor
The Pocket LOOX's use of Microsoft®'s Pocket PC 2002 Software ensures seamless integration into corporate IT systems. The ultraslim, lightweight Pocket LOOX utilizes Intel®'s fastest PXA250 Applications Processor (400MHz) and boasts advanced high-speed network connectivity functions, a brilliant colour touch screen as well as a long-lasting battery cell that provides approximately 15 hours of usage.

Leveraging on Fujitsu's existing strengths in the mobile solutions / field automation sector, the new PDA marks an important and flexible new platform for capitalizing on the infinite possibilities of the broadband era. With an expansion module, the Pocket LOOX can double up as a mobile phone, connect to digital cameras, or even accommodate an additional battery. Product specifications will be optimized to meet the particular market and sales channel requirements of each region.

Mr Alex Leung, Chief Operating Officer, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific, is confident of the appeal for the PDA. "The Pocket LOOX complements the Fujitsu family of notebooks and completes the arsenal of premium personal technology for the mobile executive. Its combination of stylish good looks, light weight and power would appeal to business users," he said. The Pocket LOOX weighs only 175g.

The Pocket LOOX features not one, but two integrated expansion slots that read Secure Digital (SD) and Compact Flash (CF) media. The PDA also sports an integrated Bluetooth antenna, which allows companies to exploit corporate wide communication to the full via wireless sharing of files and true peer-to-peer connectivity.
